Overview
This workshop looks at what assertiveness is and how to communicate assertively in different situations.  It will help delegates gain clarity on key aspects of building relationships, giving them the opportunity to be more influential in their dealings with people.

By the end of the workshop participants will:

• Define assertive behaviour and how it can make a difference in communications;
• Have clarified their personal values and the impact on their dealings with others;
• Have a better understanding of how behaviour can drive a situation;
• Identify how to make better choices in how they respond to situations.

This workshop will help anyone who would benefit from developing their confidence to become more assertive at work

• Definition of assertiveness and how it differs from other behaviours
• Changing our behaviour to help the situation
• Understanding the needs of others
• How to respond assertively
• Making assertive requests of others
• Communication techniques
• Handling difficult situations
• Building confidence and self esteem
