Equality and diversity - are you clear on the legal obligations for your organisation?

Today's focus on valuing diversity and promoting equality, means that organisations must understand where they are on this issue and take steps to ensure legal requirements are adopted as good practice.  This workshop will help an organisation assess its starting point and barriers to equality and diversity.

This workshop will benefit (i) managers with responsibility for equality and diversity issues (ii) those assessing and auditing performance (iii) researchers and auditors wishing to assess organisations.

Content
We will cover:

• Recap on the goals and vision of equality, including material on the law and recent changes.
• A focus on the variety of organisational cultures and how they get in the way of moving forward on equality issues.
• Diagnostic tools to identify and address the barriers. Examples include:
  • Developing and administering a survey.
  • Conducting focus groups on equality.
  • The crucial steps in interviewing individuals on equality.
• Case studies of organisations that have used the audit to make change.
