Overview
In addition to the 2006 requirement to produce Disability
Equality Schemes, from April 2007 all public sector
organisations will have a legal duty to positively promote
gender equality. They will need to produce a Gender
Equality Scheme outlining how they will take steps to do so.
Preparing the gender scheme can be a daunting task and
public sector organisations need all the help they can get
to outline the steps they will take to meet the needs of 52%
of the population!
This workshop will benefit Equality and Policy Officers with
responsibility for producing the scheme. Senior Managers
with responsibility for keeping within the law and promoting
good practice.\
